J. Robert (“Bob”) Andrews has over 50 years’ experience in the Firm. With Mullen and Henzell, Bob handles the business, corporate, real estate and estate planning needs of family-owned businesses and their owners, particularly those with significant real estate holdings. Working with others in the Firm having expertise in specific areas, he coordinates the planning, design, negotiation and implementation of transactional solutions to complex business and real estate issues. Typically, Bob works with his clients on acquisition, finance, operations, land use, disposition, and environmental matters, together with estate and succession planning.

He served as Managing Partner of the Firm for 16 years.

Representative Experience

Has acted as outside General Counsel to several of Santa Barbara’s best known and most successful businesses;
Created business and real estate structures that have successfully withstood challenges to collapse them as single integrated business enterprises;
Represents the owners of the largest real estate holdings in Santa Barbara’s Waterfront area;
Handled the acquisition, provided counsel on operations, and represented owners in the disposition of some of the most significant real estate in Montecito and in the Santa Ynez Valley;
Designed and implemented legal strategies for business solutions in cases involved in complex litigation
Acted as special business and real estate counsel for clients involved in high net worth marital dissolution cases

Community Involvement

Bob has been actively involved in the community. He served on the Board of Directors of Cottage Health System for 29 years where he was elected Board Chair 5 times. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art for many years, served on the Board of Directors of the Montecito Association, Land Use Committee and has been on the boards of numerous community organizations.
